Utterly inexcusable customer service and systemic issues are making me and my family wait an additional hour inside this Lowe's as I write this.
We were making a purchase including an invoice from the doors department. Cashier closes transaction and asks if we want 5% off purchase or 6 months no interest with Lowe's credit card. We had just signed up for a new credit card that comes with 10% off the purchase. Cashier decides to give us 5% off there and send us to customer service to take an additional 5% off.
Customer service tried to run the additional 5% and can't. They decide that they have to return the entire transaction then charge us again. At this point, the door invoice has somehow been wiped from the system, and now they have to call the door employee to recreate the invoice. Oh, and he just so happens to be helping another customer.
There is no way that these issues should add up to hold us hostage for so long. There should be a way to take another 5% discount, or a way to retrieve the original invoice.
Still no word from doors.
UPDATE: Apparently, they'll take 10% off the installation (labor) charge as well (originally not covered), so at least they're willing to try to make things right with the customer. Still not happy with the time spent.
