  • As the administrator of the workplace Cake Fund, I look for options that can cater to the increasingly....diversified...diets....that the workplace seems to have. That being said, Prairie Girls offer gluten free and vegan options, which is great! They also offer mini-sized cupcakes, which seems to be much more palatable than a ginormous cupcake, that no one really wants to ingest. Note - you cannot get gluten free AND vegan. You have to choose. So those who are both GF and V, which one are you MORE of?? Alternatively, in Cake Fund world, you could also just eat a banana. There are lots of flavours, my favourite being the Red Velvet Cream Cheese and the Vanilla Coconut. Recently, they have branched into making tarts, brownies and sandwiches too! They also have weekly specials, in cool new flavours, which helps mix things up. My gripe is that the icing is just too heavy. If I got the full size, I would scrape off 80% of the icing and still have too much icing. The cake itself is fine, nothing to sing about. All in all, it's a good cupcake place, and ups its game by having special flavours, and being mindful of changing dietary restrictions.
