  • My fiancée, son and I went here for dinner on Christmas Day. The food was good and the meat a little overdone, but well-seared and served hot. The servers were outstanding! but the atmosphere is lacking. The place was too brightly lit and the tables and chairs placed so close togather it reminded me of a big cafeteria. My adult son had been ill and only ate a fraction of what he normally would. He had quite a bit of food left on his plates, especially the meat, and could not finish. I knew it would get thrown in the garbage, so I explained his situation and requested if there was some way they could take it in the back and package it so he could enjoy it when he was feeling better. I realize that was probably against the rules, however, I was hoping for a little professional courtesy. At $53 each, the fact that his leftover food was going to be thrown out was upsetting. (He only ate a couple bites of meat and a small amount of the food on his "sides" plate~the least they could've done was offer to charge him the Market price, at $23 less.) Also, the price of a 6-oz. bottle of Coke was $3.50 and he had two before we thought to ask and were told no free refills on soft drinks. So the total for his meager meal without tax/tip was $60! Also, no one explained there was rice, mashed potatoes, bean soup, and other hot food on the back bar behind the salads/cold items. They did bring a dish of mashed potatoes to the table which I thought came from the kitchen, and we didn't discover the hot sides until we were leaving. Should we return again, I would just do the Market Place area. It had a decent selection of cold gourmet foods and I especially loved the cheeses, however, I would have liked to try the hot food also. Although other good buffets at the same price ($30) would also include all of the entrees, meats and desserts. If anyone could even handle dessert after trying to eat all the food that is offered, it is not included in the full meal price.
