| - I'm not sure if we overwhelmed this place with a party of 10, or if someone was off that night, but I wasn't impressed with the sushi or the service.
Yes, they have a hawaiian slant to their preparation, and everything tastes okay. But none of the fish was spectacular, fresh, or well-cut.
Most of the rolls had tons of sauce on top that overpowered the flavor. The amaebi was not good, and the heads were overfried.
One issue which bugged all of us - the servers kept reminding us that we had to eat everything we ordered...and the sushi came out very slowly. I wonder if they did that on purpose.
Anyways, right as we were paying the bill the whole restaurant filled with a strong scent of smoke. We asked the waitress - she laughed and said the chef burnt a bunch of eel in the kitchen.
On the bright side, you don't have to wait an hour for a table like at Sushimon. But maybe there's a reason for that.
This place would be two stars if it was in California, but being an all you can eat sushi restaurant in a landlocked state, I'll give them three.
