This is Hawaiian style shaved ice. They shaved big ice cubes into small shreds, then pour flavored coloring on top of ice. You can add condensed milk on top (snow cap). Or put ice cream at bottom of the ice pile.
I'm giving it 4 stars to encourage the small businesses in the ice dessert categories. Personally, I probably wouldn't come back again for flavored coloring on ice.
In Asia, the shaved ice pours on top of fruit e.g. mango, or sweet snacks e.g. sweetened boiled azuki beans, or jellies. The shaved ice itself is often made from frozen milk, not just frozen water. After eating a plate, one can be quite full. Because it is a frozen snack with substance.
For Ohio, 808 shaved ice is a fun summer rehydration station. What's not to love.
