BUYER BEWARE! HIGHWAY ROBBERY!
I wish I had looked at the reviews on YELP before using this company! My Wolf exhaust fan knob broke on the inside so we could not turn the fan off. Turned off the breaker and found the problem - a small plastic piece had broken which holds the knob in place. Since this is the only factory authorized repair service in the Valley, I set an appt. and 2 days later they showed up. Repairman was not friendly (more about that later) but set about fixing the problem and was done in 15 min. - I knew in advance that the "trip charge" was $100 but I assumed that went towards the repair - not!!! The labor ended up being another $105 and parts (small plastic box w/ a new plastic part that is bound to fail in time!) brought the total to .....
$345!!! For a knob that works & 15 min. of labor - unbelievable!
While the repairman was writing up the ticket (which will be emailed to me later he claims) he received a call and a very rude dispatcher game him an additional assignment and when he complained about timing, she hung up on him! I heard the whole conversation and when a company is rude to its employees, no wonder the employees are grumpy! He gave me the office manager, Tammy's, name as I told him I was going to complain (not about him, but their pricing!); however, she was "not available" when I called - let's see if she returns my call.
I have a call into the local SubZero/Wolf showroom as they are very friendly and accommodating there, to let them know of these issues. I will NOT be using Tri-City Appliances again - I am willing to wait for parts if that is what it takes to get friendly service and reasonable pricing.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
(Please note: this is our 2nd home in Scottsdale AND the unit was 8 years old and out of warranty.)
