I have been a value customer of Burlington since 2000 and I've never had any problems with placing items on layaway and if need be, I was allowed to cancel my layaway pay the cancellation fee and then place my items back on layaway. Well that was until I moved to Vegas from California, came to this store and was told after I placed my items on layaway and then needed to cancel was when I was told the policy is the items had to be placed back for markdowns before I could place back on layaway. So I asked where does it say in writing and I was never told this at the beginning of layaway. So I called corporate after a whole month I finally got a phone call from Cyndi Manager of customer relations from Burlington corporate office that, this is indeed a policy and if the stores or larger or the managers know you than they can decide if that's something they want to do. But I asked why it's not in writing or they should inform the customer before they begin a layaway. She then told me they don't have to put it in writing. But all stores should follow corporate policy's. But she still wouldn't answer my question about putting the policy in writing.
So with all that being said.. Make sure your informed. Burlington doesn't care about their customers
