  • UPDATE: In addition to the abysmal service and utter lack of compassion received from Dr. Christina... well, she really went above and beyond. She CALLED MY VET after I cancelled my appointment and told them that she euthanized my dog. Now, my vet's office, being true compassionate vets, did not call me to confirm her death. They did, however, (rightfully) cancel the appointment I had set with them to have my Boo euthanized. Thankfully, my vet's office was able to come out and perform the procedure. There are not enough mean, nasty words in the English language to accurately describe my feelings about this whole experience. *************************************** I was so incredibly disappointed with my experience with Dr. Christina. Based on the other Yelp reviews, frankly I expected much more. Last Wednesday I scheduled an in-home euthanasia appointment for my beloved dog. The appointment was for 48 hours later, on Friday. Note that this is a pre-paid service. In the time between the booking and my appointment, I was emailed three times to remind me. I was also texted once as a reminder. A total of 4 reminders were sent to me about this appointment. Four. Now, this alone was pretty off-putting. Who needs a reminder (much less four) of an appointment to put your family member to sleep? To compound things, Dr. Christina called me about 1.5 hours before my appointment to let me know she could come earlier if I liked. While I understand this may feel like good service to some, for my husband and I it was just too much. I didn't have an after hours appointment, I picked the day and time that worked for me (not the first available). I know this is a business, but a key component of this service is compassion, both for the animal and the people saying goodbye. We both felt a complete lack of compassion throughout this process. My husband called Dr. Christina back and let her know about the insistent reminders we received, and that we felt those combined with her phone call was off-putting, lacked compassion, and we wanted to cancel our appointment. At that point, she became upset and accused us of "personal attacks" and abruptly ended the conversation. Oh, and I was refunded my money less a $50 cancellation fee, which is ridiculous. Would never, ever trust a beloved family member to someone so disconnected from the feelings of their patients.
