Ossington isn't exactly the culinary destination in Toronto, but that doesn't mean it can't have its fair share of great eateries.
Delux is just that, a sort of fish out of water in an area known more for discarded box springs and hobos than fine cuisine. But the ambiance in this little French bistro is strong enough to make you forget where you are and just enjoy your surroundings.
I shared a molasses pulled pork sandwich and fries with a friend, and of a bottle of wine of course, and the food was just delicious. The pork was tender and juicy and smothered between two slices of homemade bread. The fries were also perfect - crispy and light and not greasy in the slightest. The waiter we had was friendly and amicable and we chatted about the resaturant's hours and how business was going.
The wine was also very tasty - a dry fresh white with may not have been the best pairing with pork but it was tasty none the less. The food wasn't too expensive either, considering the tastiness of the meal!
If you're looking for a new hot spot to hit up, away from where all the normal foodies like to hang, Delux is it!
