| - I love amusement parks, so when I had the opportunity to go to one while out of town on business, I jumped at the chance! We got to Kennywood at around 10:30am with pre-purchased tickets, so I can't speak to the ticket buying process. However the entrance to the park experience was a good one (no long lines to show our tickets or getting through security).
We had to wait until 11am for the rides to open, but when they did, we were ready to ride! We rode the wooden coasters (Jack Rabbit, Racer, and Thunderbolt) as well as two steel coasters (Skyrocket and Phantom's Revenge). I recommend every one of these for the thrill seekers! Word of advice, though, the Thunderbolt does require that you have a partner to ride with, so plan accordingly.
The only reason that I'm not giving this park 5 stars is because of the not-so-great experience with the concession stand employees. At the first stand, the young lady running the register couldn't put her phone down long enough to fully engage with customers and texted the entire time she waited on them. At the second stand we visited, it took 10 minutes to place and receive an order of fries, and the staff there were not organized at all.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this park. We had such a great time! This park has been open since the 1800s, so I was excited to visit such a nostalgic yet modern piece of history!
