  • We ordered the escargot, steak au poivre, steak bordelaise, oysters du jour, and lunch special (dc chicken salad sandwich with chips). I actually only had the steak au poivre, so I can only speak for that...it was delicious! It had carmelized onions on top with a red wine sauce (you can't really taste the red wine though). One complaint: I requested my steak medium, but it came well done. Still tasted good, but I wish it was made as requested. The steak came with a large heap of frites on the side (tasted like unsalted potato chips). As for the other items: My French aunt and uncle, who are restaurateurs, absolutely LOVED the escargot...and that's saying a lot considering they've eaten an entire colony of genuine French escargot back in Paris. The steak bordelaise was satisfying, according to them. They thought the oysters du jour were disappointingly small but tasty. The dc chicken sandwich and chips were gobbled up pretty quickly, so I'm going to take a wild guess and say those were good too. Overall, an awesome place to dine! Service was wonderful, prices were reasonable, and there is outside dining (just like many restaurants in Paris). Mon Ami Gabi is located at the Paris hotel, directly across from Bellagio, and if you dine al fresco, you can catch the Bellagio water show while you eat. What a treat :)
