  • Waypoint Homes is the absolute worst management company I have ever dealt with in my life. I spent two years with them and always paid rent on time. Every time I went to renew my lease it was raised $100 or more...I moved in September of '15 for $1700 which included pool service, by the next year they were making me pay for my own pool service ($100) plus trying to raise the rent the following year tried to raise it again I would have been paying $1940/month 2 years after originally moving in had I decided to stay..and get this, if you signed a longer lease they charged you more rent!!!! WTF!? You'd think they would give you a break signing a longer lease...but Nope.. The pool service was hardly ever completed yet I still had to pay the $100 per month. The pool would break half the time because the pool guy didn't do his job. Yet he claimed he did by sending in the same picture of a clean pool every week. I even sent pictures in showing that he obviously wasn't cleaning the pool right after he was supposedly at my house cleaning the pool. Then when I would complain about it, they would tell me that the pool was an ammenity and I wasn't paying extra for it! (BS if that home didn't have a pool it would have been renting for several hundred dollars cheaper/month) Heather Barrera which is the main property manager at the office is worthless..she is condescending and rude, a nightmare to deal with. There were two girls in the office that were super nice and helpful, Rickie and also Katie Duda. They were a breath of fresh air compared to everybody else I dealt with at Waypoint. Nobody else there is pleasant to deal with, and good luck getting a response from voicemails or emails. I ended up having to leave a month before my lease was up. I left the home in SPOTLESS condition. They told me it would be back on the market to rent in about a week and I know how fast pool homes rent out. (I had rented this home out site UNSEEN from them 2 years prior because trying to find a decent pool home without multiple apps in on it was almost impossible) They didn't have anybody move in until the DAY my lease was up September 25th (how convenient)..even though I had moved out August 9th with the home in pretty much move in condition. So my deposit that I would have gotten back went to pay the rent for the month. So annoying! As you can see by their awesome rating here on Yelp, it's not just me! My in-laws who were also leasing a home from them decided to move out after 2 years as well..they kept raising the rent on them too..and I know they were extremely good tenants who paid rent on time every month. So if any homes you are looking at are through Colony American Homes or Waypoint Homes (same company) RUN!!
