I like Bagel Stop's bagels, their good selection of cream cheeses and tasty bagel sandwiches in the afternoon, but this location has some shortcomings (at least on some days):
- they sometimes set their toasters too hot (to speed things up), so your bagel might come out singed on the outside and cold on the inside (a la most Tim Horton's)
- they're sometimes a little stingy with the cream cheese
- they don't always take your order right away when you get there (I'm not A.D.D., but this *is* Union Station -- people are in a rush!)
- you might have to repeat your order a few times as your bagel makes its way down the line to the cash register (I'm not expecting Cheers here - you don't have to know my name and order every morning, just a little internal coordination!)
I don't want to be overly negative -- the bagels are good, and it's a family-run business where they work very long gruelling hours doing thankless work. Maybe I've just been spoiled by my old Bagel Stop at 4 King Street West (in the PATH, just outside underground entrance to King Station), which is about a flawless as a bagel place gets.
