| - I'll be totally honest. I didn't like any of the Colleen's at first bc it doesn't seem like they are a true consignment store. They do get a lot of new merchandise from closeout businesses and not a lot of unique items, but with Home Consignment Store's prices going up and up (and their merchandise getting uglier and uglier), we gave Colleen's another chance.
This location is one of the larger ones, and I noticed their prices are a lot more reasonable now. I saw a few hutches, buffets, and cabinets that were Old World style (reproduction) that we liked that were marked down from $1000+ to about 50% off.
We ended up scoring a tea table from 1918 (marked with date on the bottom) for $74! It was originally $148 and since it was there since Nov we asked if they would work with the price. They guy helping us said since it was there since Nov it was now 50% off. YES!
So if you see a piece you like, check the date on the tag (they are all marked). If it has been there for at least a month or two, ask for a discount. They will work with you on the price, that is if it hasn't already been marked down a few times.
Will def check back here again next time I am in the area. The one by me in the NW sucks.
Also, check out the "side room". there is a bunch of stuff that isn't ready for the floor, but you can still peruse. Most have price tags on them, but since they are new, probably no negotiation of the prices.
