  • First, I would like to say, they use the name "Resort" very loosely. I have much higher expectations for a resort. I expect relevant decor, nice amenities, and outstanding service. The price would be about right for a hotel but it is overpriced for an inn which this more closely resembles. I gave low remarks based on a "resort". I travel a lot and am familiar with the various types of accommodations. As an inn, it is still just average. They are horribly outdated. They should have remodeled a few times by now (as a resort, they should have remodeled probably several times by now). Everything looks to be 80's (could be 90's considering it is a small town). After driving several hours from North Carolina, we were ready to eat and relax however there was no menu in the room to be found (a resort would have amenity books at the desk in the room but they did not have any book in the room which I believe is the case for all the rooms there but did not confirm). My husband called for a menu and was told someone would bring it up right away. Nothing came so I called down since my husband was very tired from driving and frustrated that they did not do as they said and I also was told someone would bring it right up. After three calls and me asking for a manager did we finally get a menu after half hour of waiting for it. It is better to say nothing than to say you are going to do something and not do anything. It was probably around 2 or 3 PM so it was not like it was the lunch rush. So this was our experience with the service. As for the food from the dining room, it was sufficient for an inn however I would consider it unacceptable for a resort. We ate in the dining room for breakfast the next day but I probably would not repeat that experience again. It some ways, the food was odd. For example, my husband ordered huevos rancheros which is usually something like a tortilla, refried beans, eggs and salsa. What he got was a quesadilla with the oddest looking avocado I have ever seen. It looked like it came out of can. It was not good. We were booked to stay a few nights but checked out the next morning. We do not play golf so I cannot speak for the course. It is a small town and there is not much in the way of accommodations however we moved our reservations to the Hampton Inn which was more recently remodeled.
