| - If I would give them less than one star, I would! They pulled me in with an initial, discounted cleaning via Groupon. The service was average and employee less behind some personal belongings/ paperwork and complained about working for Handy, offering to clean next time without going thorough Handy, so we didn't have to deal with them. This was a little strange/ sketchy, but at this point the mediocre service was enough to get me by and I didn't have much to saw in terms of a review. At this point, I was done with the service and tried to cancel it...this is where the real challenge began. They automatically charge your credit card each month for re-occurring services. All the communications are via email, so if there messages go to Spam, you are screwed. I recieved a text early in the monrning, about an hour and a half before a house cleaner arrived, telling me someone was on the way, which I cancelled immediately, however my credit card was still charged because the courtousy text is conveniently sent 1-1.5 hours before the cleaner arrives, but their policy requires a 2 hour cancellation notice for a refund. This happened TWICE. SO, I paid for 2 services I didn't receive, and was charged a reoccurring fee I could cancel. They make it impossible to cancel services online and make it impossible to call and complain when you can't cancel your services online. I was so desperate at one point, I considered cancelling my debit card, because the bank is easier to deal with than this company. I ended up having to refer to Yelp, versus the actual company site, to get a hold of someone to cancel my services. When I finally talked someone, the rep was unhelpful, unapologetic and did nothing to help the situation, throwing the "policy and terms" at me repeatedly. I did, however, FINALLY get the service cancelled, but this was after several MONTHS and almost $200 of automatically re-occurring payments for services I didn't want/ need them there in the first place. The initial discount on these services are NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE and ROBBERY that come tied to them.
