| - 0 stars. Will never return or recommend. I went for a Deva cut (medium) and full head of Pintura highlights. The appointment itself was fine, pleasant enough.. but the results of the colour treatment were literally awful. I was charged $300 to look like a cheap hooker that dyed my own hair in the sink.
I asked for lots of small, ashy, natural looking blonde highlights on my dark blonde hair to lighten it up a little but still look natural. Ended up with terrible, patchy, uneven, warm-toned/golden, streaky bleach job that is not highlights. More like enormous overdone bright yellow chunks.. Some sections are much more highlighted than others, some of the ends are darker than the roots. It looks completely terrible, amateur and will be a nightmare to grow out.
I immediately found another salon to speak to them about a colour correction (by the way the stylist literally gasped when they saw the work Ann had done) and it will cost me another $250 to fix this mess so I don't look cheap and tacky in my engagement photos. I asked Ann for a refund on the highlights since they did NOT turn out the way we discussed and I was NOT happy at all, but she refused, saying they can only refund hair cuts and not colour services - DESPITE the supposed "iron-clad" guarantee on their website that says they will do 100% refunds on ANY service that customers are not happy with. I completely understand that going from say, black to blonde is not always a simple process but I have light brown/dark blonde hair that I've never had a problem lightening before. I've been getting my hair highlighted for over a decade at this point and never had someone screw it up so bad. Besides that fact, I would never in a million years trust Ann to touch my hair again to "fix" it since we were clearly never on the same page to begin with, and when I went in to show her how it looked and ask for a refund she was arguing with me about whether the highlights were indeed small (they weren't! and regardless, I'm the customer!)
I'm absolutely pissed that I had to pay for someone to ruin my natural hair like this. The hair cut was only so-so as well, especially for the price. This "salon" is tucked away in a midtown strip-mall with bare extension cords hanging off the walls, fluorescent overhead lights and cracks in the paint and has the audacity to charge even MORE than a top salon downtown.. Seriously you could go to a senior stylist at John Frieda on King West or Marc Anthony in Yorkville and get an ACTUAL PRO to do your hair for less than they will charge you here or you can flush $300 down the toilet like I did and come to this place..
