My labor experience at spring valley was something out of a horror story. Labor and delivery nurses were more than wonderful. The postpartum nurses though were very rude, degrading and non-helpful what so ever..especially a nurse named Minnie. 2 hours after my c-section I was asked by Minnie what my pain level was at, I said an 8 and she told me "be realistic here. You just had surgery so your going to have pain" the next day I was still in severe pain after finding out I had only been getting ibuprofen and had asked Minnie for help with my baby because I could hardly move and was told "I'm not taking care of your baby for you". Later that night she came in the room and said "I'm going to help you with the baby" she took him and brought him back calm and swaddled. At about 3 in the morning Minnie asked what my pain level was at and I told her a 4. A few hours later when my medication had worn out she asked what my pain level was at and I said an 8. She then said "you told me a 4 earlier" later that day I called for a nurse and asked if my nurse could calm in.. the person who responded asked what was needed and then said she would said the nurse and I could tell it was her voice on the intercom. The nurses would take my baby once a day to get his weight. One day Mini came in took my son to get weighed then later on that day took him again to get weighed. When I told her I thought she had already did that she blatantly ignored me. I complained to a supervisor who came around asking how my stay and the staff were and then Mini was even worse..being overly nice and completely fake and kept saying your doing good mama. Very strange and horrible experience. I was also told that I would be better of denying the Tdap shot because my insurance wouldn't cover it and I'd be paying around $200. I later got charged $45 for it at my Peditricians office and was told by my Peditrician the shot is 100% covered for all mothers.
** Also when I took baby home I noticed a little scab on the back of his head which at first I mistaken for a birth mark. I just wrote it off because my mom said that he had probably just scratched his head as a lot of babies do.
