| - I went in, ordered and paid for my glasses, and I was told there would be up to a two week(10 days) wait for them. I received a call from them after about a week, and I headed up there on my way to work, giving myself an extra hour to burn just in case.
When I got there, I explained to one of the employees that I was just there to pick up a prescription. He said I would have to sign in and wait in line. As I was cresting the hour mark sitting in the lobby, I explained my time constraints to another of the staff and told her that I was simply looking to pick up my glasses that had already been paid for. She told me that I should just be patient, and that it would not take much longer. After another half hour, I left.
So, fast forward another hour, and I receive a phone call from Eyeglass World. They tell me that they have my glasses in their hand, and if I want, I can just come up there and she could hand them to me without a wait. I explained what happened while I was at the store, but her only explanation for why I could not just be handed my glasses then was that I did not talk to her. She then offered to mail them to me since I was already at work.
That having been said, if you need to pick up a prescription, make sure you have over 2 hours available to wait. They won't tell you this on the phone when they call to tell you that your glasses have arrived, however. My experience would have been exponentially better had they told me I needed to leave more time available. It would have been less infuriating if I had not received a phone call after having left to inform me that they could have simply handed me my glasses the whole time.
