  • I went to this mall on 01/18/16. The stores themselves are pretty mediocre as mall stores go, but that just warrants a two star rating. So why did I give it only 1 star? The answer: aggressive Jesus Freaks patrolling the mall trying to convert shoppers. You can't make this stuff up! I was looking at my phone when two of them accosted me. First, they said they were just doing a survey. Then it quickly moved into their "Jim Jones" Kool-Aid drinking strip-mall church in downtown Pittsburgh. The young female didn't say much, but the young Latino male was very aggressive. I told him I wasn't interested... repeatedly, but he kept at it. I told him I was Christian, Catholic (Catholic high school and college, with a healthy dose of Lutheranism). After I said Catholic, he said that wasn't Christian at all. Again, I said no thanks, I wasn't interested, but this idiotic 20-something Latino and his strip-mall church were adamant that no one... no other church in the last 2000 years of theological debate had figured out the true interpretation of the Bible - only his "church" that was probably housed in a former convenience store in a rundown strip-mall had somehow discovered the truth. What century is this? Educated people don't go on arguing about minor sectarian differences. He kept going on and on about the feminine aspects of God. He spit out some Bible verses and then I asked him if he could read ancient Greek because that would really be necessary to interpret the New Testament's true meaning without errors lost in translation, but his eyes just glazed over. I studied theology at a 15th century university in Europe so I guess I object to being harassed by apocalyptic crazies with no education who think only they have the answer. We got into a shouting match when he wouldn't leave me alone and he called me a pagan. Wow!!! Evidently, Catholics, Protestants, Anglicans, and Presbyterians are all pagans, but this Latino's strip-mall "church" is the real-deal. So funny!!! This is why religion gets a bad reputation. Monroeville Mall Security - Please enforce policy and keep these apocalyptic solicitors out! No one wants to buy what they are selling.
