  • Not sure how it's possible but the Park Theater is getting worse. My husband and I came for the 7pm Chris Rock show. We left our phones in the car and got into the venue with relative ease. We had seen Dave Chappelle the month before so were familiar with the no phones policy. I have no issue with this. If I was a comedian paid millions of dollars for comedy specials I would safeguard my work too. You think they want their whole show on YouTube? The trouble for us started early when a girl in the row in front of us kept throwing up. It took about 20-30 minutes for security to come and talk to her, eventually get her to leave and then for the porters to clean up her mess. Then less than an hour later here is the girl back, she could barely walk. I thought she was kicked out but I guess not. Luckily she didn't stay long. We were in section 304 which is 3rd level center. That is where they had the cameras for the show. Only problem, they sold those seats. We were closer to the aisle so we were fine but people kept coming up, seeing their seat was blocked off and then get an usher who sent them to guest services. It was very annoying and distracting and I was just a bystander. I can't imagine if those were my seats. I would be pissed. Finally show the starts and there are major audio and video problems. It gets to the point that whole sections of the audience are chanting sound check. Eventually they take a break to get the sound sorted out. They come back and Chris comes on. He is amazing, kills it like always but the sound and video problems continue. This is a brand new venue with a great headliner. They really need to get their shit together. I wouldn't be surprised if someone got fired that night. When the show ended they blocked off all the exits and made everyone go out one exit. WTF is that? It has to be a safety issue and it took way longer to get out. Our section was right next to an exit that was by an escalator we should have been able to go right out. Instead we are herded like cattle to the one exit they want us to use. Oh but for our trouble they handed out a 1 free drink voucher. No thanks. I'll pass.
