| - I haven't been to the Toronto Zoo in years, and I've been wanting to make another visit, especially to see the giant pandas.
Fortunately, I came across a Groupon deal for 40% off general admission about a month ago. So we figured...why not? The deal expired after a few days, but I've noticed the same deal still pops up every now and then.
My boyfriend and I visited the Toronto Zoo on a Sunday, just a couple weeks ago.
With big signs here and there, it was pretty easy to find as it located just off Highway 401. The parking lot is pretty big, but I can imagine how busy and congested it can get during the summer months.
It was a bit cold that day and there is a lot of walking involved, but we really enjoyed it. I did, however, expect a lot more animals -- not species, but the number of each animal. A lot of the animals were out and about though, so that was good. (A friend of mine mentioned to me that quite a few of the animals were hiding when she went the week before.)
I have to say...the giant pandas, polar bears, lions, and tigers were my faves! I'd go back just to see them again.
In terms of food options, there is the regular pizza, burgers, and hotdogs. However, at the Toronto Zoo, you can get Smoke's Poutinerie and Beavertails as well. Mmm...beavertails.
All in all, it was a fun day and we will come back! Not every year though.
