There is no better night out anywhere than Second City. I have been known to add an extra day to a trip to Toronto just to be sure I can get to a show. They are always fresh, funny, and inventive, with shows and casts changing regularly. Wonderfully clever with witty verbal and hilarious physical comedy. At this week's show a friend literally laughed until she cried. Really-- you will not find more entertainment for this very reasonable price. And there are often surprises: the last time I went Colin Mochrie turned up to do a surprise extra set.
Wait staff are available throughout the show. The food comes from Gretzy's next door - mostly finger stuff like sweet potato fries-- and it's ok but really just noshy bar snacks.
Tip: People gather and kind of rush the doors when they open, so be sure to get there at least half an hour early to get a good seat. Front few rows on the floor or first row of the balcony are good.
