| - I went to Buff using a Groupon with my sister and my mom. I wasn't too sure what to expect because the customer service on the phone is atrocious. 1) We had to pay taxes even though it wasn't stated on the coupon. They made a mistake with that and told us on the phone. This didn't please me as I would have expected them to honour the coupon and pay the taxes out of pocket. If a shirt at a store is marked wrong, the store honours the price. This groupon felt a bit like false advertising. 2) Trying to book appointments was a pain. They don't book further than 2 months ahead and with over 1000 groupons, this makes booking appointments difficult. My sister was on hold for so long that she just hung up. 3) My sister made an appointment for herself, but was running about 10 minutes late and they wouldn't accommodate her even though she told them that they didn't have to perform the full service.
The level of technicians vary. I had a good one (Kristen), but my mother had one that looked very new. She put the polish on before putting her flip flops on while my sister and I had our flip flops on first.
The pedicure was really great, scrub, feet buffed and filed (no massage though), hot towels. The manicure didn't last long at all. I don't think the dryers work too well so my nails instantly got wrecked. Thankfully the nail technician was nice enough to fix my nails. Twice.
The environment of the place is very posh, so it's a quite different experience than the quick and dirty nail salons I usually go to. It's very chill and relaxing, we weren't rushed out or anything. I would go back for a pedicure, but I don't think I'd go back for a manicure.
Overall it's an okay place, but they did not handle the Groupon service well at all.
