| - I went to CUT for dinner and I was beyond disappointed. First, let me start by saying the staff was very friendly and professional! I didn't want to write this review because the waiter was so nice!
One thing I love about CUT is, they don't have a traditional bread basket. They have someone come to your table with a whole tray of options! My favorite is the pretzel bread. They will also bring a plate of different kinds of mustard to the table...I used the first one (not spicy) on the pretzel bread and it was delicious. We were seated in the lounge area in the front of the restaurant because when we made the reservation, the dining room was booked. It was very busy and it seemed like most of the people in the lounge were eating dinner, not just having drinks.
I ordered the boneless filet (oscar style), brussels sprouts and potatoes. The filet was undercooked (I ordered medium) but I didn't send it back, in fear that it would be overcooked. I would rather have a little too much pink, then a well done steak. My biggest complaint was the oscar style. It looked different than any other restaurant because the asparagus was cut into tiny pieces and it was mixed in with the crab meat and béarnaise sauce. It was more of a mixture on the top of the steak, instead of layering, how you usually see it. The main issue was the hard crunchy pieces in the oscar style!! I don't know what it was but I was afraid it was something gross. It was disappointing and ruined my dinner.
Since I was still hungry after not being able to enjoy my steak, I ordered dessert. The waiter recommended the banana cream pie and said it was their signature dessert. It was pretty yummy and even though it's not big, I would recommend sharing it with someone.
CUT was one of my favorite steakhouses and I used to recommend it to everyone but after this visit, I can't say that anymore. To top it off, the hostess didn't greet us when we walked in....but when we walked out, I said goodbye and she didn't say anything! Another hostess walked up and said bye right before we were out of the door.
