  • I rented a car from this location for a week in Phoenix. Upon pickup of the vehicle, I verbally declined additional insurance coverage through EZ, as I have more than adequate coverage through my own plan. When giving the Agent (Ken) my credit card at the end of our transaction to pay for the $200 deposit, I again confirmed with him that I did not want the additional insurance and that I was only being charged for the $200 deposit and nothing else, to which he agreed. When I received an email copy of my receipt and invoice of the transaction after returning the vehicle- sure enough- I WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $321 for insurance. Upon speaking with customer service to request a refund for services I most certainly didn't request, my refund was denied because I "signed" indicating confirmation of the added insurance. HOWEVER, the actual signing is done on an electronic signature pad at the end of the transaction, where you can't actually see what you're signing for, and the agent (Ken), just told me I was signing for confirmation of receipt of the car. Very deceptive, and yet now looking at the other Yelp reviews, not at all surprising. This is FRAUD- there's no other way of looking at it, as it was so clearly an intentional overcharge. If this location continues this type of business practice, they'll be lucky if the only thing they end up with is a slap on the wrist and a padlock on the front door.
