  • I went to this shop based on Yelp* reviews. I just purchased a used 2007 Equinox from a private seller and was having an issue with the key not releasing from the ignition....I had the same problem with a previously owned 2007 Equinox. I did some research and found quite a few consumers who reported the same issue which made me wonder why there isn't a recall but I digress...although the issue was the same, it wasn't always the same fix. I guesstimated it would be a $300-$400 repair. I took the vehicle to Zip Zap and was checked in fairly quickly. As I waited for my ride I thought maybe I should just have them inspect everything due to the private sale, so I told the receptionist I'd like them to inspect it. She said it was too late because they had just pulled the vehicle in for service...very quick! I was surprised that she wouldn't add the inspection to my ticket but oh well...I could always bring it back. A few hours later, Victor called to tell me it was the gear shift assembly, $390...I was hoping it would've been closer to $300! It was Friday and he needed to order the part so I left a deposit for the part and picked up the vehicle. The part came in on Tuesday, I dropped the car off on Wednesday and the repair was done the next day. I told Victor I'd like him to do the 100k service even though the car was 8K shy of that. He said he would do whatever the car needed. I had a list of things I wanted him to check but it seemed like he had it under control. He flushed the tranny and cooling system, changed the spark plugs and wires, and checked for other maintenance items...the cost was $537. I expected to have the air filter and cabin filter replaced but maybe it didn't need it? I was extremely pleased and shocked at how quickly Victor was able to complete the service. So far, so good...the key comes out of the ignition like butter!! I would give them five stars but felt like I was asking too much when I first asked for vehicle inspection and when I tried to ask Victor about the things I wanted checked on the 100k service, I felt like he didn't really listen to me and I'm all about the customer service. I will definitely use them again, though.
