| - The bf and I were going to see Sugar Sammy at the Olympia one Friday night (if you get the chance, check out his show "You're Gonna Rire", so worth it!!). Anywho, not knowing the area very well, we searched some restos with Yelp's Help. We settled on Le Saloon as it featured a good variety.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. The host was a doll; very attentive and welcoming. The decor is very cool; rustic mixed with old Hollywood. I loved it. We decided to start off with drinks as it was still a little early; we each ordered a draft beer, and I have to admit, they tasted a bit watered down. This was probably the only disappointing aspect of the place. We had planned on eating supper here, but decided to start off with an appetizer to share; as Danny is allergic to all fish & seafood, we decided to try out the poutine (mmmm poutinnnee). We didn't think it would be a large portion, but when it came out, we were starting to wonder if they had brought us a double portion, considering it was rather large. What I loved was that the gravy came on the side, allowing us to put as much or as little as we desired, and the fries didn't get soggy during transportation. The fries were handcut and perfectly crispy on the outside / tender on the inside; the gravy had a tinge of sweetness to it, offsetting the saltiness of the cheese curds and fries, and well cheese curds were so delish. Like I said, we had intended on eating supper here, but the poutine was so filling, we ended up leaving afterwards. However, we do intend on coming back because we enjoyed the atmosphere, staff and food! I recommend checking this place out, even if just for a 5à7 :)
