  • I have no idea why it took so damn long to come here! Grr on myself. Have driven by constantly on weekends and some weekdays when I'm close by, but never visited. I'm always at the Gilbert farmer's market & have visited Postinos with some gal pals, but have yearned to come here. Smack my forehead & say, "You dummy, Lil!" Totally and fantastically, awesome food! Took the fam out for a big lunch and wanted to check this place out, knowing that on a weekday during Fall Break it wasn't going to be busy...yet. Nice outdoor patio seating for lunch and it seats very nicely large groups (we have 6 in our family which includes a 19, 16yr & 11 yr old hungry boys). Service was excellent with our server being totally attentive and efficient. She was always there to check up on us in the midst of the growing lunch crowd, always filling up our drinks, and always being so cute & kind. -Oysters were fresh & clean! Hubs & baby boy downed those in less than 5 mins; we should've ordered the dozen. It came with grated horseradish & cocktail sauce. -The clam chowder was creamy & loaded with nice-sized clams. An option would be to have it as a meal in a bread bowl, which will be for next visit. - Calamari "fries" were cooked perfectly: light, not oily, crispy, and portion was good for an app for 2-3 peeps, not 6 (I got one, but let the kids have the rest). Would eat a whole order myself, but the main food is what I came for! - Nice selection of fish tacos with choices of blackened, grilled, or beer-battered. Shark is also an option for the tacos - not sure if it would be Mako or Thresher...we'll have to see next time! Three of us ordered 1) grilled mahi-mahi with mango salsa, 2) blackened grouper, and 3) beer-battered cod. All approved and topped with Baja sauce & cojito cheese. Salsa on the side was tasty too. Tacos are served with pinto beans with peppers (didn't care for them) and Spanish rice (meh). A nice option or to kick it up a notch would be to omit those two items & replace them with black beans & lime and cilantro-style rice. That would be a more cohesive entree. - Fish & chips...wow! Yummy, crispy goodness! The other 3 of us ordered that. Coleslaw was sweet which I prefer and the accompanying fries were seasoned. I think with 2 pieces of fish, fries & the coleslaw was proportioned well & filling. - Other things to try for next time: clams & mussels apps, the Po' boy sammies, and salads. - A little pricey, more than what I'd spend in Cali when I go to similar establishments, but it was worth it to come, especially for fresh seafood like this out here in AZ. Ready to go right back. I'm from Cali and the owners are too. It was nice to read their bio on one side of the menu, giving a nice & personable touch to their customers. This was the closest tasting thing that reminds me of home in all the years I've lived here - a laid back, mom & pops, outdoor, cool place to eat some fresh & fast cooking food. Seriously everything was so fresh, all we needed was a half dozen seagulls dive bombing around the tables, the salty air, and the sound of the waves. They also serve alcohol, a nice beer list too, but wasn't in the mood yesterday. We'll be back for sure!
