| - Don't let the friendly staff and clean grounds completely fool you, they have some shady policies here. At night they allow a tow truck to drive around the property checking out if tenants car registration has expired, so they can give notice to tow...a little odd and a little too big brother for me. Now let's talk fee's, as a warning when you sign your lease they will charge you a couple unnecessary fees, application fees etc. The fees you pay for moving in are their fees for running a business, they pass those onto you in addition to your rent in the beginning. Now let's dive into what really makes this place somewhere you should be cautious of. I need to move out 2 months early, I understand that I am still responsible for paying both of the months, I have a lease, I am not an idiot, lol. I let them know I would be moving out early if they would like to try and rent the place now because it might be easier instead of around Thanksgiving when my lease is up. I asked them what would happen if someone rents the place after I leave, they responded that I would still have to pay until my lease is up...let's get this straight, I leave, you rent the apartment and I still have to pay until the middle of Thanksgiving? That would be double rent. They explained that it wouldn't because the new tenant would be paying rent...I would now be paying a "termination fee", that is the exact same as my rent, until my lease expires. That is how they try to go around the law and collect double rent. Shady, shady, shady. So instead, I will be paying rent for 2 months and my apartment, despite a shortage of housing, will remain empty because no way I am allowing them to collect twice for the same unit. It's not a bad place to live but move here with both eyes open, they will try to scam you any way they can.
