| - I really, really like shopping here.
I love that a lot of their produce is organic, and often seems to be as local as possible while being lower-cost.
I find that the produce here is of very high quality and the prices are very fair. There are often good deals on beautiful fresh produce, such as 2 for $2 on big bunches of organic spinach.
One of my favourite things about this little market is that they sell off over-ripe/wilting produce for really cheap. Its packaged in grab-and-go $1 or $2 packs near the till of lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, and mixed fruit/veg (sometimes all chopped up and cleaned for you) and there are also baskets of berries and fruits such as pears, apples, nectarines etc out front underneath the produce tables.
The people who own this place are obviously ethical/sustainable-minded and also want to make food accessible. Way to go! On top of that, they're super nice :)
I often pick up baskets of fruit to freeze/can/stew and some of the $1/$2 packs for stir frys, soups, and roasts as well as whatever looks fresh, pretty, and delicious. I often spend under $10 and leave with more than I can carry. My housemates can't believe how much healthy food I'm always cooking, and how little I spend on groceries. Its mostly thanks to this place.
