Today is a day for a some good and some bad reviews.
First the bad: We wanted a quick dinner for tonight, so we picked up a couple of chicken pot pies. We baked them at 350 degrees until the middle was hot. They were very disappointing. The filling was quite dry; very little gravy and tasted like cooked pie crust. The pieces of chicken were flat and square; obviously cut up sliced deli chicken. I suggest the AJ staff cook and try one before selling any more.
Now, the good review: My wife asked one of he butchers for some thin flank steak to make braciola (an Italian meat roll dish). The butcher wasn't sure, but the meat manager suddenly spoke up and said he knew what we want and he'd take care of it. He sliced a perfect thin slice, just what we wanted.
Usually, AJ's is right on the money, but not this time.
