| - We visited Luv It on 3/4. I was looking forward to it, since I am somewhat of a frozen custard fanatic, and it's hard to find in Southern California where we live. After having read all the great reviews, we were extremely disappointed. I have had frozen custard all over the country, and this was the worst I've ever had. I expect that the main problem was that we went later in the evening (around 9 pm) and I expect that the ice cream had been sitting in the bin for too long. It was icy and thin. In fact, it reminded me of an ice milk product, rather than the high butterfat, mouth-filling texture I expect from frozen custard. And to add to that, both the chocolate and vanilla had very little flavor. In fact, my daughter actually threw hers out. The best frozen custard places continuously make fresh product. Andy's, for instance, advertises that they make theirs hourly all day. It's critical with frozen custard, that the product is fresh, and not allowed to sit in the bins for very long, or ice crystals begin to form. There is a Freddy's located across town, and although we have not tried this particular location, we've been to several others, and it's always great...a way better product than what we had at Luv It.
