| - We came out for date night on April 17th, 2015 for dinner at 7pm. Was immediately walked to our table and given the menu. The hot item to order was the Chef's Menu and a lot of other tables got it.
We went with the basic Chef's Menu and it was a lot of food. Now I'm not slouch when it comes to over ordering, but holy shit, do you get so many items to try. The break down for a table of two is: you get 3 salads to share, 2 soup of the day, 2 entrees, 3 side dishes and 1 Chef's choice dessert.
For intro, we got the salads, which comprised of a Caesar Salad, a Spinach Salad and a Italian Buffalo Mozzarella. Now the server said this was small, sharable size, it was still a decent size. We killed the salads but that was where we made our rookie mistake, at this point, we were starting to get filled up.
For main course: she had the 18 oz bone in grilled rib eye and I had the 16 oz roasted New York bone in Steak. I liked a tougher cut but I can see how others might not like the New York because it was a bit tougher than I would have liked. For her ribeye, it was very tender, almost like a Filet, but my gf enjoyed it. Both steaks came pre-cut, which is nice, I'm just not a fan of pre-cut meat. The downside is the meat lacked enough seasoning, but it had what I thought was a wine-based au jus so it covered up for the lack of seasoning.
For sides: we went with baby carrots, mushrooms assortments and house favorite Potato puree. The carrots were purple carrots and in the dark light, it looked like beets. the carrots tastes fine but I HATED beets, so the relations did not help enjoy the meal. The mushroom assorts was unremarkable, I'm glad we got the smaller version, bc if we ordered the full order, I would have been disappointed. The Potato Puree was pretty good as advertised, it was very creamy and had lots of flavor.
At this point, you're pretty much wiped out. So we had them box all the sides and most of the steaks. Thinking that was the end of the meal, we got our dessert platter. You get some italian ice, some baked buns, and some salted creamy dessert. If you weren't full, you are inhumane at the end of this meal.
The meal was enjoyable, and the service was attentive. The runners/assistant waiters were on top of everything and replaced items without asking. The Chefs menu was $125 per person plus alc/taxes/tip, came out to be $301. MGM gave me $100 resort credit so that really helped with the tab.
Would I come again? absolutely, but probably a bigger group would be better for the Chef's menu. The idea behind it is great, because big groups always struggle with what they like to eat, so this way you can share bits of everything. But for smaller tables, such as couples, you're just a gluttonous fatass if you think you can eat all that food.
Yes! That would make me a gluttonous fatass.
