If you are hungry and want excellent Chinese food at affordable prices, this is the place to come. It's not the typical fried rice, kung pao, orange chicken fare, this stuff is legit Chinese food.
The most popular dish ordered by non-chinese is the #7 BBQ 2 combo with rice. It comes with peking duck and crispy pork belly that has been deliciously flavored with Chinese five spice powder. Also included is a side of bright green steamed Chinese broccoli. It all sits atop plain white rice that has nicely absorbed the marinade of the duck and pork. It's a complete meal, with your protein, carb and veggie for $7.99.
The pork belly is something to talk about. It has an excellent balance of crunchy skin and moist meat. There are great flavors here with the salty, briny meat and hint of anise which is strong but not overpowering. The duck was the usual and not much to talk about there.
Cash only. Crowded.
The staff who have excellent command of the English language are really friendly, welcoming and approachable. The ones with minimal English are not so friendly and in American terms could be considered to be downright rude. It all is to be taken with a grain of salt. I attribute their rudeness to their inability to communicate. The super friendly demeanor of the English speaking associates help make up for their non-English speaking counterparts.
Located across the street from Wendy's noodle cafe and 168 market. This is one of my favorite little blocks to eat while in Vegas.
