  • The location can be a little confusing if you're not familiar with the area. Going by the numbers on the buildings facing the street, there are several places marked as "1126," one of which is a pyjama/clothing store. You have to go down the stairs next to that building and then walk a bit before you see The Naked Leaf. It seems to be in vogue to sell a lot of tea blends (tea with added pieces of fruits/spices to give it a certain flavour). I prefer my tea straight up, or at most, blended with jasmine, so I love that this place offers many choices for both purists and those looking for more diverse flavours. If you're looking to buy just a small amount of tea, you're not limited to the sample tubes that they provide in the basket. You can get a sample of any of the teas you see displayed (with the exception of Pu-erh teas). I use a small, traditional clay pot to make tea, which can be brewed multiple times from a single batch of leaves, so with regards to price, you do receive value for your money. In addition to the tea tin incentive (the $1 discount), they have a "frequent buyer" card. Each time you purchase something, your card gets stamped; once it's full, you get a bigger discount (I think it's $15 off your next purchase). They can keep your card in their store so you don't have to carry it around and risk losing it. Even without the incentives, The Naked Leaf is still worth at least one trip to Kensington. (Oh, and if you're planning on using a debit or credit card to pay for your purchase, there is a $10 minimum spending requirement.)
