  • I have been attending CCV for about 3 years and the first thing I noticed about it is that all the locations are in high dollar area's. The exception being the Mid-Town Campus but not to worry if your sneaking over from the Biltmore area. The entrance is in the back and its attached to the pool place so everyone will think your picking up goodies for your spa. On the plus side. More often than not CCV has an excellent message and there have been multiple occasions when those messages have helped me with a difficult period in my life. They are clean and well maintained. But something changed in the last year or so. It really hit me when Pastor Ashley did one of his sermons about October or so and at one point he seemed kind of exasperated and stated how much it costs to pay the electric bill each month. Nobody told you guy's to build church's in only high dollar area's. Nobody told you to do a rock concert and laser light show every weekend. Ever thought about bringing in an acoustic guitarist? Nobody told you to stock your church's with Ping golf shirts and Starbucks. I'm envisioning Jesus kicking back at the club house right now sipping on an iced mocha before he goes out to play another round. It is a very good possibility that Starbucks is taking ten percent of the gross profits right off the top. If you want to do volunteer work they background check everybody. It's a good thing Jesus forgave us for our sins because you don't appear to. I was going to do some volunteer work and then somebody mentioned the 30 dollar fee. What???? As I was sitting there listening to this chastising again about money (he wasn't talking about 5 or 10 dollar donations either) I suddenly felt like I was in the George Orwell movie, 1984. Big Brother was up there on the screen, impersonal, practicing his version of Newspeak that I call Christian Light when I realized that I have never seen on any campus that I went to a reason as to why we are there in the first place. A cross or any indication that this is a church at all. I'm sorry you have made a mockery of our Father's house.
