I've been a member for over three years. I waited so long to review because whenever possible I like to have a history with the business before coming to any conclusions about it.
Mountainside Fitness Pavilions: Overall I like you a lot and would love to give you 5 stars. You do many things very well. I've been a member of many gyms in the area at various price points going up to country club level and you are superior to all of your competition that charges a similar membership fee.
Pros: I've been to all the MSF locations in Scottsdale and this is my favorite. It has the best equipment and layout. Machines get repaired pretty quickly. Everyone who works there, from front desk to trainers to management, seems to be happy and proactive. I haven't done any personal training there but the trainers I observe are engaged and I haven't seen any of them doing some of the questionable stuff I've witnessed at other gyms. Locker room is kept sufficiently clean and in good working order. I have never had any trouble with billing or account activity.
Cons: There aren't enough mats for stretching and floor work. If you go at a time that is even moderately busy, you're lucky to get one. This is such a minor thing -- please just get more of these mats. I took off one star for this. I dinged you another star for the fact that all the TVs are tuned to Fox News if it is a "newsy" time of day, like morning or late afternoon/early evening. You have a lot of TVs on the floor, MSF; some are tuned to sports but regarding those that aren't, do they *all* have to be on Fox? Not everyone is a fan.
