| - Had the best ever dining experience here last weekend to celebrate our anniversary! After all the great reviews on Yelp and the can't-miss-out deal on Travelzoo ($79 for $149 worth of food and wine), the boyfriend and I made a trip out of the strip to this fancy steakhouse.
We were greeted by the host whom straight off the bat knew was expecting us and congratulated on our anniversary. When we sat I noticed the sun was in my face and asked to move to another seat. Our server Josh was more than happy to give us a booth seat which was not as blinding and much more romantic. His service was great from start to finish. From the recommendations to our wine pairings to making it the best anniversary dinner either of us have ever had.
We strayed away from ordering wine as I did not see that one and only wine I can actually tolerate on the menu. I also told Josh about it. To my surprise, after ordering, he came back with two glasses of wine with raspberries inside and said it may not be the only wine I liked but he thinks it may be close. I took a sip and he was right, it was not the wine I liked, it was something MUCH better. Sweeter taste without that slight bitter aftertaste. I DRANK THAT WHOLE GLASS LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS. I was so impressed with Josh's knowledge to find my perfect wine match. That same description of wine I have told so many other servers and got nowhere near the taste.
Onto our dinner- We started off with the Seafood Plateau. Great deal for $55 for a party of max 4. For us 2, We were just stuffing away. Freshest oysters I have ever had. The chef did a great job cleaning it out. The shrimps, mussels, clams are all great. Lobster cut into chunks making it easier for us to stab at. The crab legs were very long and full of crab meat.
Then came our main entrée and sides. They do not joke around here. 2 double cut lamb racks cooked perfectly and seasoned. Their signature sea bass with it's flaky crust and very silky texture inside. Did not regret the choices! For the sides, we had the bourbon creamed corn which was my favorite of them all. Very nice twist to the traditional one. Lobster mac and cheese. Not overpowering with the lobster but a good proportion. Mushroom medley that was nice to have along with all the protein and carbs we were consuming. Josh brought us two different kinds of salt and they helped enhanced the flavor especially with the mushroom. In addition, our entrees came with garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts with bacon. Mashed potatoes was fluffy and thank gosh for some veggies in our meal with the Brussels sprouts.
When we could not stuff our self any more, we got our food wrapped up in boxes as we prepare our self for what people call dessert. Chocolate molten cake with a toffee sauce was just the cherry on the dining experience. My boyfriend devour it despite how full he was from the meal we just had.
Our dinner from beginning to end was way more than we anticipated. Many time, when we go into a dinner with any type of coupon or voucher, we immediately get the less than regular guest treatment. Not here. In fact, we got the VIP treatment. Our water was never less than 3/4 full, the manager even came by to ask how everything was and wish us a Happy Anniversary.
I could not have asked for a better last night in Vegas for the boyfriend and I. Loved the experience, loved the service, loved the food. Cannot wait to bring my close friends here to share the wonderful experience with again!
