| - I will admit it, I loved this place.
Sure it's kind of run-down and sketchy, definitely not the big glitzy T&T or Galleria style Asian supermarkets, but the selection of authentic imported products and dry goods is outstanding, and the prices are really great.
I was looking to pick up some asian staples like light and dark soy, sambal oelek, fresh noodles, frozen shrimp, etc. and I not only found a good selection of all of those, I got them at a great price, and I found some harder-to-find gems like vegan mushroom oyster sauce, and unsalted shaoxing rice wine.
I'm looking forward to going back with more time, to dig deeper and see what other interesting finds are lurking on the shelves. For some reason this place feels like where the locals shop, vs the big trendy Ultra supermarkets, which feel like where the tourists go.
It may not be big, it may not be glamorous, and it may even be a fine example of what North Americans often find scary about Asian supermarkets, but what it does well, it does VERY well. :)
