| - Okay I need to do an initial first impression and then my continued ongoing experience type of review. Initially, I have been living right next door to this place for years and never walked in. I finally did last year around the holidays and thought it was probably the most visually stimulating salon I'd ever seen here in AZ...that wasn't day spa of course. The front desk is crazy busy all the time, appts suggested. The clientele can be intimidating and then the prices are a bit higher than places across the street or in surrounding areas. I've been coming here for my gel mani's with a design like loose glitter and usually spend about $40.00 minus tip. It's interesting at first because many of the techs look young and beautiful and dress very fashionable and stylish. The owners do as well. Many clients pull up in Range Rovers, Benz's, etc. rocking Louis bags and Gucci purses. So at first, especially after not receiving an extremely welcoming greeting, I thought that okay if they do nails great I can't see me coming here often because of the uppity environment. I love glamor like the next girl but I initially thought it was just too much. So I have been there like 4 times to get my mani's done, and not consecutively. When I want simple I go across the street. When I want something for an event or to look fabulous, I come here. I noticed during my first visit how "Bebe" tried her best to make sure I was pleased with my nails. I was extremely. Also when they take off my gel polish they do it in record time, at the other salons I go to that alone can take 20-25mins.The next time I came she wasn't available and I got someone else that did a good job but not like Bebe. SO the next time I went I got her again. I got my pedi done only once and for what I was paying I decided to go to another nail shop who specialized in designs. I have never had a rude technician and the management did seem more into the clientele that seemed like regulars and I thought that were probably some of the more wealthy ones.
Okay, I have read many of the reviews about the rudeness and the not saying thank you and please. Maybe that's a culture thing. I am half Asian, and I struggle with that sometimes with my mom. There's no filter there and she doesn't realize when she is being rude and she doesn't do it on purpose but no excuses just trying to think of why that might happen. However, I had a different experience with dealing directly with one of the owners Tammy. She TOTALLY took care of me. I had a hack job done to my eyebrows by Quality Nails owner. I was devastated and it was on my birthday. Tammy was amazing. She took her time to take off the disaster that were my eyelash extensions. Glue everywhere on my skin and on my hair follicles! It took her over an hour just to get it off. There is still some glue I CAN'T EVEN take off because it was so much overage. Even with all of this I only experienced a loss of 2 eyelashes. THANK GOD! She talked to me the WHOLE TIME! Was extremely comforting and very knowledgeable about eyelashes and care of them. She walked me through everything she was doing and explained what THEY did wrong. She even let me feel the glue, which felt like sand and the big clumps she needed to remove and see the removed ones. She said the removal process is fairly easy and only takes one application of the serum to remove the glue. People..it took 4 applications! Then they were closing so a woman named Dina came to finish me up and she was also just as amazing. Very comforting and telling me how beautiful my eyelashes were starting to look. Tammy kept coming back in to check on me. Also, with the debacle that had occurred I still only paid $10.00 for the removal. Compared to other eyelash extension places the full set price is only $100.00. definitely affordable and worth it. They also look extremely natural. My family was really pleased they said the set before made me look Elvira-ish! There is an extension that was built as they took over the suite next door for day spa services. These ladies were talking technique learning from one another. Their English is amazing, a few technicians are college graduates. I only bring that up because of the stigma of nail technicians.
Maybe it was my own hang ups that made me think that way in the beginning. Also, my husband waited for me for about an hour in the lobby talking to owners/managers the whole time. He said they were smart, friendly and really nice people. Maybe if I never had the bad eyelash lady happen to me I would have never saw this side of the owner and her staff. Also, there is this relationship she has with these women that's very encouraging. I overheard many conversations and based on them she really looks out for their interest, continued learning, education...needless to say I was so impressed. So, although this was a review on Pink Polish it was also a life lesson for me about perception. Give people a chance. This place is worth my 5 STARS!
