  • My husband held a dinner with coworkers at Lavo and was impressed with the food and service, so he made a reservation for us to celebrate our anniversary. We were told that the server that we requested was not available...staff went so far as to pretend to not have a clue who we were talking about. We scanned to dining room to no avail and only saw the said server after we finished our meal. Once seated in the middle of the overcrowded dining area, our server couldn't get away from our table fast enough when we didn't choose to order wine with our meal. Her attitude worsened when I ordered the pasta since it was one of the 'lower' priced menu items. The situation with the server turned so sour, that we actually had the manager assign us to a new server to finish out our meal. When the food arrived (in 2 trips by 2 separate servers) it was quite underwhelming considering the pretentious environment. I don't mind paying for quality and service, but it pains me to do so when what I'm served is on par with what I can cook for myself at home. We decided against dessert (because Sprinkles cupcakes never disappoint) but were forced (our check was withheld) to wait on a complimentary anniversary dessert. There are plenty of other dining options to explore in Vegas, so look past this one.
