  • While on vacation in Orlando I was offered a free dinner to attend a timeshare presentation. I mentally made a decision that I was not going to buy no matter what was said. Once inside the presentation I noticed other people buying. They seemed happy and excited to be part of what was going on. Everything sounded great and in a couple of hours I was in a room signing paperwork. I was on vacation and feeling good about going on more. When I returned home I started looking at what I signed. I was shocked to see what was in writing. Now home I started to panic about what I had gotten myself into. Feeling stuck I decided to make the best of it. I tried to schedule a vacation but it was much more difficult than the salesperson explained if not near impossible unless I did it a year in advance. I started to look for a solution to get out of the contract. It was expensive and hard to use and I did not want to keep it. My mother used O'Grady Law Group for a real estate matter and really liked the way they handled her case. I went to their office for a meeting to find out if anything could be done. I explained that not only did I feel deceived at the presentation but some of the things the salesperson said to me were not true. They were calm and reassured me that if in fact I had been lied to something could be done. They took a week to investigate my case and called me back to say they would take it. I was nervous about paying them but I had no choice. In the end I was able to get out of the contract and some of my down payment was refunded. I so happy that I will not have to make payments to the timeshare company forever.
