| - Texas Station is an awful place to stay while in Las Vegas. Shell out the extra one hundred and stay at a more guest-oriented hotel that won't scam you out of money you could be using towards activities.
My family and I went on a trip to Vegas last weekend, and first and foremost, Check-In was a horror. My mom had paid in advance and booked an early check in (something that cost extra, she was charged for it). Upon getting to the front desk, we were told that we could not check in early because there were still guests in the room. We had to wait until regular check in time and still had to pay the fee for a luxury of "early check in" that we did not even receive. Not only that, but the clerk then proceeded to say that my mom's card had been declined, mind you, after she had already paid in full through booking. So short nearly two hundred dollars now, my sister had to pay for the room, deposit and all. More on the money scam later.
My uncle went as well and had also booked in advanced (a non smoking room). His room was not ready upon arrival, and in order to get him out of the way, the clerk stuck him in a random room in an effort to get rid of him and help the next person in line. She put him and his family in a smoking room. With chronic asthma, he could hardly breathe. After hauling his luggage and family back and forth from lobby to smoking room back to lobby, all the clerk said was "All I can say is sorry."
Fast forward to nearly two hours later when the rooming (not the money) situation was sorted out, we find out that there is a limit on towels per room. It's three. Three towels per room, per day. I don't know if anyone knows how difficult it is to have four ladies in a room trying to shower, but three towels is not enough. Speaking of the shower, the bathtub was gross, stained, and the water pressure was bad.
On the day of check out, it was beyond frustrating trying to get downstairs. We waited fifteen minutes for an elevator, because the hotel thought it was a great idea to begin transporting mattresses during peak check out times. We ended up just traveling down four flights of stairs with luggage because it was impossible to get on the only two elevators in the hotel.
Let's talk about more money scams that Texas Station holds. My sister (whom if you don't remember from above, had to pay just about $200 to cover the money the hotel scammed from my mom's card) only received a little over half of the deposit she put in. We left the room in the same condition we found it, and there was no sort of mini bar or anything for extra spending. So where did the rest of the money go? Well, that's something my family has to deal with because of this awful hotel.
We travelled from California, expecting to have a decent place to stay, considering the three star rating. This was such a let down, and I'm disappointed that anybody is running a hotel like this. If you're planning a trip to Las Vegas, do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at Texas Station.
