  • We lived here for the past year and I have never been more excited to move out of a place. When we moved in, our place was in no way ready for us. The maintenance guy had to go into our place to clean up a few things that had been left unfinished....we were told to do a thorough check-in and make notes of anything that was out of place...and if we marked it with a star, they would come fix it. I have never taken so many notes on a walk-through paper. The seal on the window was broken and ants were coming in. There were no stoppers in the master bedroom tub or sink. The guest room bathroom was never cleaned (we could tell because the toilet didn't have the sanitary seal like others did) and the cheap linoleum was warped. It appeared that paint had just been thrown on the wall in places and was never actually rolled on nicely. Light bulbs in the bathroom were burnt out and there were broken blinds. Maintenance did come back that day and fixed a few of the issues but left the tub stoppers behind because he was called to another call....they are still sitting in a bag next to my tub to this day. They arranged for someone to come change out the flooring in the guest bath and they just replaced it with cheap wood-looking linoleum....but the floor is clearly rotted underneath (it is squishy to the touch). A few months into our stay, we noticed that there was water leaking in the laundry room. They came and replaced our washing machine....but left a metal bar on the bottom that clearly says to remove before using washer...without telling us it was there. Thank goodness we noticed the horrible noise and took the bar off before anything was ruined. Later, we still noticed water on the floor and finally learned that it was coming from the master tub. Because it was leaking from upstairs, it put a large bubble in our drywall downstairs in the laundry room....maintenance came and fixed the leak and said they would have to wait until the wall was dry to fix it....needless to say, there is still a bubble in the wall. Walls in the place are VERY thin....we can often hear the noise from our neighbor's TV, the kids running up/down the stairs in the unit behind us, and the people who close their bathroom cabinets EVERY morning around 3am. Then one day, a monsoon came through and we noticed that our patio flooded with at least 2 inches of rain. This is not good because we have things in our outdoor closet and it was almost high enough to come through the sliding door. We live under a large tree that loses it's leaves often, and noticed our gutters are full of junk. We reported the flooding and asked them to clean our gutters so that it wouldn't flood again. The report went through on July 19th....as of August 21st, my gutters haven't been touched (even though I went into the office 2 weeks later and asked why they hadn't been cleaned yet...she said she would look into it). Verano Townhomes doesn't take care of their grounds well...tree branches are often breaking off of trees and it takes days for them to be picked up. They often run out of dog poop bags and wonder why people don't pick up the dog poop (even though that is also a large issue with the residents here even when there are bags). The dumpsters are often over-flowing and there have been mattresses/furniture sat outside of them that have sat there for DAYS. It took them months to refinish the main pool. It's hours are supposedly from 7 am to 10pm, but they often don't open it that early because they have to "clean up from residents from the night before". The customer service is no good. They tell you what they know you want to hear but their follow-through is non-existent. My last straw was broken when we found a copy of our work-order with notes written on it left on our counter. Maintenance had entered our townhome even though we CLEARLY put on our request that they would need to make an appointment when we were home because we have dogs in the house. When we brought this concern to the office, her response was that "we don't usually make appointments"....then why put that option on the work order request?! The only positives is that I felt very safe in this location and it is pretty quiet.
