| - I came to this hotel/casino having been at the Tropicana at a conference all week and and NOT being given a good rate for one more night there. I got a good price at the South Point Hotel and Casino on Priceline.
More positive than negative.
Negative:
* They have something like 7 restaurants, but if you want to go to any one of them other than the buffet or Asian-themed restaurant, you may have to wait in line a L O N G time. The Asian themed restaurant was really good, so if you like Chinese and Japanese food, that's a good bet.
* The place is H U G E and getting around inside the building takes a bit of time. Because of the size, the price, their amenities (an equestrian center!), and available activities, they have a LOT of patrons. It's crowded and smokey.
* Check-out via the television system, while quick, has a fairly bad remote-control interface.
Positives:
* Nice room. Large
* Nice, efficient check-in
* Discount coupons provided at check-in to encourage guests to stay on premises.
* Large, adjacent parking garage.
* Good Asian-themed restaurant
* Movie Theater, Bowling Alley, Barber Shop, MUCH to do to keep entertained
As I came to Las Vegas for business and fatigue quickly from the crowds and hoopla on the strip, staying at the South Point Hotel and Casino is something I'll likely do again.
