We have had our 2012 Ranger boat to 3 other service centers for a ticking/knocking sound in our Mercury 250 Verado Pro. We paid for a computer diagnostic each time, all to no avail. No one could find anything wrong. Then, we were on vacation with the boat and were steered to Marine Center for another round of diagnostics, as the sound was getting louder. We called and talked to mechanic Will, and made arrangements to bring the boat in the next morning when they opened. Service Manager Bob Miller took us right in and immediately put the boat in the tank to hear the motor for himself. After running it for a few minutes and ruling out the supercharger, he said he would take it right in the shop and check the lower end. We went to breakfast to await his call and hadn't even received our food yet when he called and reported that there were two missing teeth from the gears and he had already ordered a new lower end, which would be in the following Monday (this was a Wednesday). However, we got a call 2 DAYS LATER from Bob, letting us know our boat was repaired and ready to go. The motor now runs like new and we are so relieved that we finally found a KNOWLEDGEABLE Verado mechanic shop and will be bringing our boat here for any work needed, even though we live 200 miles away. If you want quality repairs to your boat, this is the shop to use.
