| - It's been a year now since I've been a loyal customer at Ranch 99 on the Maryland Parkway/Flamingo location, and this place still has the most friendly, helpful workers and comfortable grocery shopping environment as ever! :D Another thing I noticed is the fairly diverse mix of people so you won't feel like a conspicuous minority (if you're the timid type) overwhelmed by mostly Asian or Hispanic shoppers in those ethnic markets. The produce and food here is consistently clean and costs less or are comparable to their nearby competition or at Chinatown, and it's more spacious to walk through the aisles as well as easy parking outside. I lucked out when I stopped by in the early morning and scored the best quality persimmons and pineapples that I've ever had in my life. Considering the huge size, beautiful color, and sweet, ripe smell, I wouldn't be surprised if they're all picked out by the day's end! Their bakery inside also has the fluffiest, freshly baked French bread ($1.09 each!), but I was told that they were still baking in the oven and wouldn't be done until after 10:00 AM which means I'll have to come back tomorrow to get me a hot loaf (yes, it's that good)! Of course, there's the amazing selection of assorted seafood (large prawns and crab!) and meats (there's even goat!) too. Check out the store for yourself because I'm betting you'll like it as much as I do! ^_^
