We went here last week with some friends of ours. We live just outside the downtown area and love to frequent these places. We have been to the Cortez many times over the years, but never eaten at the steakhouse.
The Cortez is old Vegas but the steakhouse seemed to have a more up-to-date look to it. The menu has a good variety of items and everything was reasonably prices, especially some very nice wines. The food was fine, but a bit bland and one dimensional. The garbage salad and mac and cheese stood out. The halibut special was underseasoned, overcooked and dry.
