| - Stayed here this past weekend with my husband and parents. We are Hilton HHonours members and were able to book rooms for extremely reasonable rates/points redemption, even with it being a holiday weekend. We were able to check in the day before arriving and choose our rooms. Both rooms were upgraded, which was very kind, especially as we were later told they were booked to capacity.
Location is easy to find and despite construction across the street on a large condo complex, we heard no noise. The lobby is large and beautiful and there were always staff members available to assist us. The hotel grounds are quite spacious though we did come across some confusion getting from the South building to the North, as my parents were staying in the North. There are plenty of signs around the halls to direct you, wherever you are headed.
Room wise, our upgrades offered us spacious accommodation. We were in a king bed suite and my parents were in the ambassador suite (we both just booked standard king rooms). Both were updated, clean, and very comfortable. I will note that my parents' room had a tiny ant issue during their stay. They were very noticeable in the bathrooms and my Mom found them on her items that were left on counters. Yucky but they didn't bite and were so small that you had to look to see them.
We received a free continental breakfast through the lobby cafe our first morning, and found the selection ok. I don't eat pork and all of the breakfast sandwich/wraps contained it. But they have delicious double chocolate muffins that were a nice indulgence instead. We didn't try any other on-site restaurants, but did enjoy the mexican restaurant just down the street (follow the chili peppers painted on the sidewalk).
The various options of pools were a nice touch as well. We enjoyed the North courtyard pool our second night and found we had it to ourselves for the most part. There were a few rowdy tweens without parental supervision but we just sent my Dad over to calm things down. The River Ranch was paaacked when we went late afternoon (4pm) on Sunday. The main pools and hot tub were filled with children and so we enjoyed a couple of rounds on the lazy river. It was very helpful that everything was included and our hardest task was figuring out how to get our wristbands off.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Any staff member we encountered was very friendly with hellos and smiles. We were spoiled with our upgrades and have to say that they really enhanced our stay. We won't hesitate to return!
